St Ronans News Letter November 16

Trixie’s Blog

Our Beautiful Garden and our hard work for this year’s Portsmouth in Bloom won us GOLD ~ what excitement and such an achievement for our Resident Gardeners ~ Michael Nolan particularly.

Activities we have some wonderful new activities. A Magician with live Rabbits ~ Animal Therapy with reptiles, insects and small fluffy animals! The Residents were a bit weary to start with but loved it all and all it involved ~ very hands on! Good photos! We are booked now with Pantomimes and brilliant entertainers right up to Christmas and January 2017. Good fun xxx please join us. Our lovely Bob and Wendy continue to support us from St Simons Church with their individual blessings and communion if desired ~ very comforting for our Residents and much appreciated.

Fund Raising Relatives and Friends old and new continue to support our fund raising which enables us to have extra lovely treats ~ fish and chips on our bus trips out ~ our make-up club and a trip to the Kings Theatre for the Panto this December to name but a few. Our Autumn homemade cake sale in our front garden will be mid-November with our Relatives and Friends Support Group meeting on the same day ~ the exact date will be put up in the lobby beforehand. Posh tea parties continue and the next one will be for Children in Need ~ the date will also be in the lobby ~ do come and support if you can.

Feedback Please continue to write feedback forms and pop them into Matron’s Box on the reception desk.

Hugest thanks for your continual support, kindness and good cheer ~ you are such a valuable part of St Ronans. With all our love and blessings, Trixie xxx

Infection Control

Norovirus Outbreak Thank you all for your understanding and patience during this period, we had 56 cases in the Home but because we all worked together to protect our Residents we were clear within 10 days. A reminder to all though, nasty bugs are prevalent this time of year, please refrain from visiting if you are unwell, and do not visit until you are 48 hours clear of the bug.

Our Infection Control Lead Nurse is Lynn Taylor. Please remember to always use the alco gel when arriving and leaving the Home, wash your hands regularly and if you feel poorly or have an infection check with the Home before visiting.

Comments and Complaints

If you have any comments, concerns or complaints, please have a chat with Matron as soon as possible, alternatively leave a note in the post box.

Monthly surgeries for residents, relatives & friends and staff run every month, please see signs for dates and times. Remember Matron’s door is always open.
