On Arrival
You will be met by the Registered Manager or a senior nurse, who will introduce you to members of staff and show you around your new home.
As you are at home, you will want to arrange your room and belongings. A member of staff will help you, and show you the “call bell” system. Your room will be looked after by our housekeepers. An inventory of your belongings can be taken now. Friends or relatives can assist, and refreshments will be available.
All rooms come with TV and ‘wifi’ as required (many homes charge for this, and many other things we provide as standard – shame on them!) Also, please discuss personalising your room with us.
Don’t worry about meals! We are proud of our home-cooked food, and at some point, our chef will visit you to discuss your dietary needs, likes and dislikes. We will take your breakfast order, which, like all our meals, may be taken in your own room or in one of our dining rooms or lounge areas.
Daily Life
Moving to a care home can be a very stressful time for new residents and their loved ones, so we try to make everyday living as homely as possible. The home is run for your benefit, not the convenience of the staff, and your wishes, desires, preferences and choices will be respected and taken account of at all times. For example, at an early stage, please inform staff how you wish to be addressed.

Visitors, Friends & Relatives
Visitors, friends and relatives are welcome at all times, although, we ask that you arrange with the Registered Manager if you wish to come during mealtimes or at night (8pm – 9am). Mealtimes are precious moments for our residents, and also, their sleep is easily disturbed.
As well as our communal areas, you can chat to your visitors in your own room, the garden, or one of our relaxing quiet areas. We also provide accommodation for visitors who have travelled urgently overnight to stay with a poorly relative or friend.
You have been like an extended family to me & Nan. Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough but I do thank you from the bottom of my heart.
